New England Urban Music Awards Heir 2 Tha Streetz

This year Wally hit it big on the New England Urban Music Awards front picking up the award for Best Rap Male and Best Promoter Company for Heir 2 Tha Streetz.

The New England Urban Music Awards were founded by Boston-native Charles Clemons Jr. Clemons is also the owner of the Boston urban radio station Touch FM (WTCH 106.1 FM). Clemons’ main goal for the New England Urban Music Awards was to create a networking opportunity for artists in Boston, a place for these individuals to meet up and display their talents – and hopefully advance their careers.

Clemons’ says about his efforts, “We want to get music back to what is acceptable to most people – to have clean, conscious, empowering music that parents and children can comfortably listen to. Urban Music Awards is bigger than me. We were all put on the earth to do something positive. I’m always a step ahead, thinking of what the next step is in terms of uplifting our communities. Boston needs a New England Music Awards. It’s the Grammy Awards of Boston; red carpet, cameras flashing, people coming out in droves looking sharp, the whole thing.”

Congrats to Wally Sparks and Franki Blanco for winning at this years New England Urban Music Awards and wish them luck when they compete next year!

Today, Wally continues to be an overwhelming presence in the Boston area. Currently he is working on his next album and he and Franki are combining their talents for a new episode of Heir 2 Tha Streetz which will be hitting the airwaves shortly. Wally has also been working on putting together some videos for his fans and will be appearing in next Thursday’s issue of the Cambridge Chronicle so keep an eye out.
